Greetings from snowy downtown New York City to all of our friends and club family, and all who have joined us since last year's NIGHT OF 1000 STEVIES. We are overjoyed to announce the date and theme for our twentieth annual NIGHT OF 1000 STEVIES - it is an anniversary that so many of you have helped make possible by your enthusiasm and great support. We are delighted to be returning for our third year to the THE HIGHLINE BALLROOM, truly a most Enchanted venue for this marathon show. NOTS 20: SISTERS OF THE MOON will be held on Friday, May 14, and tickets will go on sale later this month.

This year's moonlit, milestone edition was inspired by one of Stevie's most enduring and iconic songs, SISTERS OF THE MOON. Though Stevie has not performed this song much of late, it has remained a showpiece and staple of some of NOTS most thrilling performers, from NICOLE NICKS during the JACKIE 60 days right through to POISON EVE and troupe last year. This year's bill will include Legends of Stevie Realness from all eras of the show, and honors them all, who come from all over the country and go through so much to join us, our Sisters of the Moon.

We will now begin assembling the bill for this moonlit milestone edition, with first priority given to Legends of Stevie Realness from the entire history of The Night - those NOTS Legends who are most beloved by our audience, have performed at many editions, or have made NOTS herstory in some way. Of necessity there will be less debuts this year, but we are still passionate about including at least a handful of new performers. If you would like to receive instructions on how to apply, please drop us an email at events@jackiefactory.com. We will be reviewing submissions through March 1, and will be notifying all new performer applicants during the first week of March.

Our next announcement will have lots more details, including first confirmed performers, more about the theme, and box office information. We wanted to get the date out early so you can begin to make plans, and will be back in touch when the box office opens.

Night of a Thousand Stevies is probably the best-known STEVIE NICKS fan event in the world, a riot of shawls, lace, baby's breath, twirling, tambourines and great performance. This event began at JACKIE 60 twenty years ago with four performers, and has grown into a true spectacle, featuring countless interpretations over a marathon night. As always, this Enchanted evening will climax in a twirl of shawls and tambourines with the Battle of a Thousand Stevies near morning.

As we once again prepare for a truly magical night, we are humbled by the tremendous support that you bring to NOTS every year. Special greetings to all of our friends from the Stevie Nicks websites and other online outposts for the Gypsies That Remain. Forward and post freely, and we look forward to twirling with all of you, sisters AND brothers of the moon, on May 14.

And The Love Remains -

"SURELY SOME REVELATION IS AT HAND" - W.B. Yeats, THE SECOND COMING, 1919

The pioneering "Cyber/Fetish/Gender-Hacking" party CLICK + DRAG, which ushered out the 20th Century in style and returned with a bang last year, announces its second annual Future-Spectacle for October 17. Two of Click's founding producers - director and visual artist ROB ROTH and nightlife impresario CHI CHI VALENTI of THE JACKIE FACTORY will stage this year's epic CLICK + DRAG 3.1/ THE SECOND COMING at sympatico venue SANTOS PARTY HOUSE. CLICK 3.1/ THE SECOND COMING is a two floor, evening-length epic, preserving the night's strict dress code and pansexual mix of fetishists, artists, gender-hackers and "Glam Nerds."

CLICK 3.1 was inspired by the W.B. YEATS poem THE SECOND COMING, and its themes of new gods for (often terrifying) new Ages, "Spiritus Mundi" or universal subconscious, and a post-Christian world. CLICK 3.1 celebrates gender-bending new prophets and prophetesses, and the neo-tribalism that borrows elements from a myriad of religions to create new believers and practices. CLICK + DRAG 3.1 will feature multimedia works directed by Roth and installations and performances by dozens of collaborators.

This year's highlights will include trans icon and vocalist OUR LADY J, who presents an electric take on her GOSPEL FOR THE GODLESS with piano, choir and chadri design by GARO SPARO, gender-illuminati cabaret troupe THE PIXIE HARLOTS in THE SWITCHING HOUR, and Method Go-Go icons FALON, AMBER RAY and SEQUINETTE. The DJ roster includes original Click (and SCISSOR SISTERS) DJ SAMMY JO, DJ JOHNNY DYNELL (who also creates the night's signature mixes for the clicknyc.com website and show) Darkwave DJs JOSH CHEON (SF) and JOHANNA CONSTANTINE, and electro DJ ANGELO.

A STRICT CYBER/FETISH/TRIBAL DRESS CODE WILL BE COMPLETELY ENFORCED: WEAR GODDESS OR TRANS-GODDESS, GLAMOUR MARTYR, SPHINX-WEAR, RUBBER NUN, PRIESTESS, SEQUINNED SAINT, CROWN OF THORNS, PAGAN CHIC, SHIVA REALNESS or CYBER, FETISH, TRIBAL, GENDER-HACKING, FAERIE, GOTHIC OR BRILLIANT BLACK. ABSOLUTELY NO STREET CLOTHES OR MUNDANES - NO EXCEPTIONS.

CLICK + DRAG began as the Saturday-night weekly at Valenti's experimental MOTHER nightclub in 1996 and ran for four years in over two hundred themed editions. The new hybrid explored the interface between nightclubs and computers as CLICK + DRAG built a fanatic following. When MOTHER closed in 2000, they launched CLICK + DRAG 2.0, a monthly edition at Chinatown's FUN, which thrived until the events of 9/11/01. CLICK + DRAG 3.0 introduced its new annual format at THE HALLUCINOGENIC TOREADOR, the 2008 reboot at SANTOS, for over five hundred enthusiastic attendees in extraordinary costume. Do NOT miss the once-a-year chance to drink in this completely unique New York club spectacle.

REEFER MADNESS IN THE PARK!

On September 6, JACKIE FACTORY producers CHI CHI VALENTI and JOHNNY DYNELL will present their third annual LOW LIFE to crown this year's HOWL! FESTIVAL. LOW LIFE is a "Howlucination" created by the JACKIE FACTORY as an evening climax for HOWL! - a two hour theatrical showcasing the East Village - and especially, The Bowery, in a lavishly costumed production starring dozens of downtown's finest. This year's LOW LIFE 3: VIPER MAD - is inspired by the early 20th century "viper" culture shared by downtown (and Harlem) jazzmen and hipsters, the opium dens of nearby Chinatown and other Olde New York drug cultures. The rich repertoire of "Viper Songs" popularized by CAB CALLOWAY, FATS WALLER and dozens of ensembles through the 20s, 30s and 40s will be interpreted in dance numbers, vocal and musical performances, burlesque and drag renderings.

This year's marijuana-tinged edition features two MCs - PAUL ALEXANDER (of "The Ones" and JACKIE 60) with EMPRESS CHI CHI VALENTI, the show's co-producer. The splendid cast includes burlesque Goddess DIRTY MARTINI, choreographer JULIE ATLAS MUZ with the PIXIE HARLOTS in "REEFER MADNESS", New Bowery crooner ADAM DUGAS, butoh ensemble VANGELINE THEATER (who will reprise their "Butoh Brothel" for this special edition), period visionaries JONNY PORKPIE and NASTY CANASTA with PINCHBOTTOM BURLESQUE, international Dragstar SHERRY VINE of East Village based THEATRE COUTURE with special guest JOEY ARIAS (of ARIAS WITH A TWIST), THE NEW YORK SCHOOL OF BURLESQUE choreographed by founder JO BOOBS WELDON and featuring MISS PEEKABOO POINTE, nightclub eminence HATTIE HATHAWAY, sensationalist AMBER RAY, Red Hot Mama ERICKATOURE AVIANCE, reefer striptease by MISS MELODY SWEETS, vocal stylings of MR. PATTY BRUCE, and Viper Vamps DARLINDA JUST DARLINDA, LEGS MALONE and HEATHER LITTEER aka JESSICA RABBIT DOMINATION.

Dress Up and join us in the park! Wear NYC demimonde evening effects (1860-2010), Viper Glamour, Ragtime Rags, Cab Calloway effects for Butch Women, corsets and vintage lingerie, Opium Den loungewear, Gangs of New York, Reefer motifs, First Avenue Flapper, Top Hats or Bowery Punk.

The LOW LIFE events were inspired by the seminal LUC SANTE book "LOW LIFE: The Lures and Snares of Old New York." The annual LOW LIFE extravaganzas at HOWL! continue a body of work born at JACKIE 60 over a decade ago, with past editions in London, Minneapolis and of course, the 2007 and 2008 HOWL! Festivals. For the show's producers, East Village residents for over two decades, this annual spectacular is a Valentine to the neighborhood's past, present and future stars.

THE HOWL! FESTIVAL was named in honor of the groundbreaking poem by ALLEN GINSBERG and began in 2002. HOWL celebrates the East Village and Lower East Side's role as a preeminent locus of culture, with signature events like the group reading of HOWL and ART AROUND THE PARK. Centered in Tompkins Square Park, the festival attracts more than 100,000 visitors to the clubs, galleries, parks, streets, and theaters of Manhattan's Lower East Side. Summer 2009 marks the addition of HOWL! HELP, a year-round emergency assistance/health fund for East Village/Loisaida artists of all eras and disciplines - visit the howlfestival.com website for more information. It also marks the first year that the festival runs for the whole month of September in venues including 45 BLEECKER, the NEW MUSEUM and ST.
